Members of The Bond Club of Philadelphia (BCOP) last month presented Penn State Abington Finance major Anthony Quach ‘19 with a $2,500 scholarship during an event at the The Racquet Club of Philadelphia.
BCOP selected Quach from among six nominees who attend area universities. The Philadelphia resident is the first member of his family to attend college.
“Not only has this scholarship encouraged me to work harder in my last two semesters at Penn State, but hopefully one day I will be in a position to give students the opportunities that you have given me,” Quach said.
Proud Penn State alumnus Howard Trauger ‘65, Managing Director of Carnegie Investment Counsel and president of BCOP, presented the check to Quach.
Andrew August, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, accompanied the student to the meeting.
“We are deeply grateful that BCOP recognized the quality of Penn State Abington Business programs and invited us to nominate a qualified student,” said Dr. August said.
“It’s terrific that the distinguished members of BCOP, a 102-year-old organization, fund this annual scholarship to not only provide scholarship support but also to enhance opportunities for university graduates to be employed in the Philadelphia investment community.”
